Fairies
Traditional Folk Tale
In Ireland, the fact that fairies are so plentiful, gives rise to the
belief that all fairies are Irish! Fairies may have originated from
the neolithic men in Ireland known as "Firbolgs", who hid from the foes
in underground holes / dwellings.
Wherever they came from, glensfolk generally respect fairies, and not
without justified reasons. Offending a fairy is a very unwise practice,
neither is interfering with fairy possessions. Those who tried to cut
down a fairy thorn are prime examples.
