Culzean Castle
Anteroom to The First Drawing Room
This charming little room with its barrel-vaulted ceiling was shortened at the time when the lift was installed, so that the proportions are now different to those planned - originally there was a fireplace in the south wall. The 18th- century colour scheme was fully restored in 1977.
The barrel-organ dates from the last quarter of the 18th century. The sepia engravings are also of the same period.
