Castle Ashby

Reynolds Room

Castle Ashby is truly a Stately Home. The elegantly proportioned principal reception rooms run the full length of the ground floor in the East Wing. The house is filled with the furniture, ceramics, porcelain, pictures and sculpture of the Compton family, and the present Lord and Lady Northampton regard it as their home. The Reynolds Room is named after Sir Joshua Reynolds' famous portrait of Mrs Drummond-Smith. A fine example of 16th century style, the room achieves both intimacy and a sense of space. The bay window overlooks the East Terrace gardens and the parkland landscaped by Capability Brown.

The Reynolds Room is 49x30x11 feet and will accommodate 40 people in Boardroom layout or 200 people as a reception room.
