Castle Ashby Today

The original Elizabethan kitchens, which once rose the full height of the house, have been converted into a superb modern catering complex. The cuisine, like the interior decoration, is of the highest standard, but avoids pretention. There is an extensive wine list, including several excellent English wines.

Castle Ashby is no dusty museum, frozen in time. Without any loss to its original style and dignity, it has been transformed to provide all the requirements of the modern visitor, in surroundings which fully retain the charm of the English country house. The original State Rooms, magnificently hung with paintings by Van Dyck, Sir Joshua Reynolds, Landseer and Del Piombo, have been fully restored and are at the disposal of guests. Each of the twenty-six bedrooms features an en suite marble bathroom. In the grounds expert tuition is available for a full programme of English country pursuits: clay pigeon shooting, archery, horse riding, croquet, coarse fishing, and carriage driving. There is a golf course nearby. With superb accommodation, Castle Ashby provides a unique location for a residential conference, board meeting, product launch, promotion, or special celebration.

Castle Ashby is not open to the public continually, but is available for exclusive social and corporate events.
