SIR MARTIN FROBISHER

Sir Martin Frobisher (c.1535 - 94) was a seaman who in the 1570s led three voyages to Canada, during his search for a north-west passage to China. He later joined Francis Drake's expedition to the West Indies and played an important role in the defeat of the Spanish Armada.
