The New Armouries

Built in 1663-4 as a storehouse for small arms by the Board of Ordnance, this building now houses the British Military Armoury section of the Royal Armoury.

At the beginning of World War II it was used to house the Prisoner of War Collection Centre, through which almost 200 Naval and Luftwaffe captives passed before its subsequent move to Cockfoster.
