In Ireland, the fact that fairies are so plentiful, gives
rise to the belief that all fairies are Irish!

A FAIRY THORN is called so because it has not been planted
by man, rather it has originated by itself or it has grown on an ancient
"rath" (fort). |
Hallowe'en |
Lammas Fair |
"Samhain", the eve of All Saints, is the Irish name for
Hallowe'en. Festivities included a celebration at return of those who
had been away on high pastures with their cattle ~ "booleying". |
An unbroken history of over 300 years applies to the feast
of "Lu", the Lammas Fair. |
