Imperial Service Order (I.S.O.)

Instituted in 1902 by King Edward VII as a reward for the clerical and administrative grades of the Civil Service at home or abroad.

Admission to the Order is normally limited to those with 25 years valuable service, and to those who have given 'eminently meritorious service'. The Imperial Service Medal is associated with this Order.

Since 4th March 1993, no further recommendations have been made for this award within the United Kingdom.
