Windsor Castle
THE KINGS DRAWING ROOM
This was King Charles' withdrawing room and was for a time known as The Rubens Room because of the important paintings by that artist, notably the Holy Family above the fireplace. Also here is Van Dyck's celebrated depiction of St Martin of Tours dividing his cloak. Some of these paintings may have looked down upon the body of George IV as it lay in state in this room in 1830.
