Ripley Castle

Ancestral home of the Ingilby family for 26 generations, set at the heart of a traditional English Estate village. The architecture is a fine example of the growth and development of a family home throughout history. Don't miss the armour dating from the Battle of Marston Moor, The Priest's Hole and the commemorative ceiling in the Tower Room commissioned to celebrate the visit of King James VI of Scotland en route to be crowned King James I of England. The guides, many of whom are retired teachers, bring history to life in an informative and humourous manner.
